- Blurb:
Update (2011/02/12): In August 2010, I continued my Olympic journey and photographed Team Canada at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. To celebrate the anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, I've started releasing content from Singapore. If you haven't been here since Vancouver Games - scroll down! There's a lot more to see now.
The last post. The final photo. Today is April 24th, and while the Games have been long over, my experience hasn't. I've been working away at this site since early February, and every time I look back on what I've done and the people I've met, I can't help but smile.
Just moments ago, CTV started its broadcast of the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame. The athletes deserve nothing less than my admiration - after all, they are why we came together - but there is more to remember than medals.
I'll remember the people I met - the handshakes, the hugs. I'll remember spending night after night walking up and down Granville Street, looking for someone from China. The jubilation after every victory. The dance parties. The awkward costumes. The comradery and all the surprises. And I was there, to capture every last minute of it.
Vancouver may have gone back to normal, but I won't. I've been blessed with this project and I've grown so much because of it. I go forward with a sense of pride and accomplishment that will never fade.
Here I am - 33 countries, 151 photos and 151 stories later. I pray through what I've done, you find the same happiness I did during the games. There's a lot wrong with the world, but for a month, we let it all slide and opened ourselves up to complete strangers - and it was amazing.
Smile. Shake hands. Say kind words. Have a dance party. Every two years is too long to wait.

Wow. Beautiful, Jeremy. You’re right – two years is far too long of a wait.
Incredible. Appreciate it I do indeed. Thanks for the inspiration, man. Cheers!
Okay, the first picture is .. Terminator Jem. Yeah, somehow it just got stuck in my head. Except you’re not taking a gun. You are armed with an SUPER UBER AWESOMENESS LENS! xD
Brilliant. I love this project. Thank you! Also, love those guys in the strange costumes. Perhaps the Green Men have influenced them.
Long live the internets.
This is such an inspiring project. I can’t exactly verbalize how it makes me feel but it warms the heart to see the world come together in celebration. “Smile. Shake hands. Say kind words. Have a dance party. Every two years is too long to wait.” couldn’t resound any stronger to me. Hats off to you Jeremy!
